With all the amenities of an urban hotel – eight rooms with steam heat and bath plus a dining room providing first-class meals. It mainly served transient guests on their way to and from the many sporting camps on the upper reaches of the West Branch. It housed the post office, a supply store furnishing everything for travel in the backwoods, and rooms for the guides who served the sportsmen on their backwoods trips.
